Tim Solms is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Slingshot Aerospace, a leader in satellite tracking, space traffic coordination, and space modeling and simulation. The company’s mission-critical space data and insights help satellite operators, space agencies, and defense agencies improve spaceflight safety and optimize their orbital operations.
In the role of CEO, Tim oversees the company’s overall strategy and operations, ensuring that Slingshot continues to deliver world-class data and insights while bringing new and innovative capabilities to market that serve the ever-evolving missions of Slingshot’s customers.
Solms is an 18-year United States Army veteran who also brings more than 20 years of executive leadership experience with a focus on optimizing businesses for growth and profitability. Solms has led the transformational growth of the defense and government divisions of multiple global corporations, including serving as General Manager at Microsoft overseeing the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) business, managing all DoD and NATO business for VMware Federal, and heading Dun & Bradstreet’s Public Sector business.
Most recently Solms was at Dun & Bradstreet, the leading global provider of business decisioning data and analytics, where he served as Executive Vice President and General Manager overseeing all U.S. federal, state, and local government, and Canadian government business.
Tim graduated from The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina. He and his wife Lynne have five daughters. Tim enjoys sailing and flying and is a volunteer pilot for Angel Flight and Veterans Airlift Command – an organization that flies wounded soldiers to and from home and other activities.
