Patrick Butler is the Executive Vice President of Engineering & Programs at Sidus Space where he is responsible for leading the company’s engineering organization and program execution, as well as overseeing the 24-hour on-orbit operations of Sidus’s satellite constellation and the management and growth of the company’s product lines. Prior to joining Sidus Space, Patrick was the Director of Launch Execution for Blue Origin’s New Glenn rocket where he was responsible for launch and recovery mission planning and external regulatory coordination, in addition to operations management of the launch pad and the launch team’s training and certification program. Previous roles at Blue included management of the New Glenn Supply Chain at Blue Origin’s Orbital Launch Site. Prior to joining Blue, Patrick worked for Bell Helicopter’s Innovation Team supporting the development of new unmanned aerial vehicles. Patrick began his career as a helicopter pilot in the U.S. Marine Corps flying the UH-1Y Huey for over ten years. He held a series of major leadership roles including the Logistics Department Head during a combat deployment to Helmand Province, Afghanistan and Operations Officer for the Marine Aviation Training System Site in Hawaii where he led the operations of all aircraft simulator systems for Marine Aircraft Group 24. Patrick holds a bachelor’s degree in systems engineering from the United States Naval Academy and two master’s degrees in Aeronautics/Astronautics and Business Administration from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
