Mark Hanson, PhD is Senior Mission Architect at Redwire, where he brings more than 30 years of leadership in spacecraft systems engineering, mission architecture, and advanced space program execution. A systems-thinking, mission-driven leader, Dr. Hanson is known for guiding complex space programs from early capture through execution and for directing multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-performance space systems on schedule and within budget. Prior to Redwire, he served as Director of Advanced Programs at LeoStella, Vice President of Space System Architecture at Tethers Unlimited, Chief Architect for Smallsat Satellite Missions and Solutions at Space Systems Loral, and in advanced systems leadership roles at Maxar and Northrop Grumman. Across these roles, he led complex technology development and spacecraft programs, including autonomous systems, on-orbit servicing, space robotics, and mega-constellation mission concepts, frequently operating under aggressive technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Dr. Hanson holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from The George Washington University, an MS in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Michigan, and a BS in Aerospace Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
