Timur Davis is an Investment Director at Munich Re Ventures, where he leads the ClimateTech and Future of Transportation investment sectors. He focuses on companies addressing some of world’s most pressing challenges, including strengthening climate resilience, improving sustainability, enabling the energy transition, and creating new paradigms for the movement of people, goods, and data across transportation domains. In the space sector, notable investments include Starfish Space, Orbit Fab, and Okapi Orbits.
Prior to joining Munich Re Ventures, Timur held key roles in venture capital as a Principal at Canapi Ventures and Live Oak Ventures, and as a Senior Investment Manager at Samsung Ventures. Earlier in his career, Timur was a strategy consultant with the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in New York where he led consulting engagements focused on growth strategy in a variety of fields including banking, pharmaceuticals, and enterprise software.
Timur lives in San Francisco and holds a PhD from the Department of Applied Physics and Applied Mathematics at Columbia University and a BS in Materials Science and Engineering from Rutgers University.
Lewis JonesLewis is a VP at Generation Space, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Seraphim Space Manager which manages a $300M AUM fund entirely focused on space. Lewis holds a first-class Aerospace degree from the University of Southampton and was previously a Thermal Analyst working on jet engines at Rolls-Royce. At Generation Space, Lewis has supported more than 20 transactions into space businesses, responsible for over $150m of deployed capital.
Raphael RoettgenRaphael Roettgen is the founder of E2MC Ventures, a space-focused early-stage venture capital firm with over 25 space investments to date. He is also the co-founder of Prometheus Life Technologies, a space biotech startup focused on organoids.
He lectures on space entrepreneurship and finance at several universities including the International Space University (ISU) and the Swiss Institute of Technology at Lausanne (EPFL), hosts the popular Space Business Podcast, and is the author of “To Infinity”, an introductory book on the space economy.
Previously, Mr. Roettgen held senior roles at global investment banks and hedge funds and was also a fintech entrepreneur in Brazil.
He holds degrees in finance from Wharton, machine learning from PUC-Rio and space studies from the International Space University, where he also serves as a governing member.
Dr. Xiaoming YinDr. Xiaoming Yin is a Senior Investment Manager at Lockheed Martin Ventures. Her primary investment focus at Lockheed is in Space Technologies, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Next Generation Computing, Quantum Technologies, Data Analytics, and Advanced Materials.
Prior to joining Lockheed Martin Ventures, Xiaoming was a Fintech Associate at Pivotus Ventures. At Pivotus, she developed the investment thesis and worked on product development for a next-generation digital bank. Before joining Pivotus, Xiaoming worked five years as a Quantitative Researcher in Citigroup Option Market Making trading division.
Xiaoming received M.S and Ph.D in Electrical Engineering from Northwestern University, where her work was published and presented in several international journals, as well as conferences. Xiaoming also received B.A in Economics and B.S in Electrical Engineering from Rice University.
