Karen M. Anderson is SAIC’s Business Development Director for Defense Space with years of experience supporting the Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC). She is adept at acquisition strategies, programmatics and mission integration and delivery for the Missile Warning, Tracking and Defense (MWTD), BMC3 and Ground O&I. Karen joined SAIC six months ago and has been responsible for building mission integration solutions for both the SSC and SDA.
Karen began her career as a civilian at the National Security Agency and continued to serve the IC in the private sector, delivering mission critical programs like Real-Time Regional Gateway and Key Management Infrastructure Modernization. She led agile programs to modernize, innovate and deliver complex systems under compressed schedules featuring innovative platforms, unique data models, and mission-focused analysis applications that exponentially increased mission capability in the field.
Pivoting to the Space Industry in 2017, Karen worked at Tyvak Satellites to build and deliver small satellite solutions for EO/IR, SAR and Weather missions for military and intelligence customers. She supported FORGE MDPAP and the Polar programs while at Raytheon and advanced the USSF’s and USAF’s journey to the cloud while at AWS.
Karen leads SAIC’s growth for MWTD and OPIR missions and heads the market positioning for SSC’s Space Sensing and MILCOM & PNT and ground integration and BMC3 at the Space Development Agency.
Karen has a B.A. from the University of Minnesota and an MBA from the Johns Hopkins University.
